Figma Flags

Thought I’d post an article about my Figma’s new flag collection. Nothing special, just that I wanted flags for my Figmas and so I could have them hold it in future Anime conventions or whatever. I’ve been searching for Canadian flag ones but couldn’t find one around me so I decided to craft my own. They look simple enough to make.

I wasn’t too worried about coloring, but if it would actually be put together with ease as I’ve never made something as simple as this. Future Figma flags will look better as I now know what must be put together to make them hold onto toothpicks. Crazy glue ruins images and normal tape hinders it a bit. Will look for double sides stickies and the like so perfection of simplicity comes later ^^.

Damn crazy glue, never using it again. Had it sting my right eye and spent a good few rinses in hot water trying to get it off my fingers. I’m sticking to tape until I can find some extremely thin double sided stickies. And yes, I know how to use crazy glue…the one I was using was too strong.

I made three Canadian flags (in case I screwed up), 1 Japan flag, and 1 Danny Choo “d” flag. First ones took me about a 2-3 hours (Canadian flag multiples) with the final ones taking about 10 minutes as I knew what to do and how to stick them on.

I think I should finally get around to drawing some Fox logo’s  for flag and enlarge it for site use….Might make some more at a later date, unless something else beats me to it. Thanks for viewing my article and hope to see you later ^^.

Edit: Monday, July 12, 2010

Made a pirate flag upon a joke request and tried to put together a mini-logo flag of my blog mascot. The Arctic Fox flag is WIP and needs to be fully fleshed out. Also printed out Canada’s and Japan’s flag as suggested as it looks cleaner.

Thanks for viewing and hope to have these flags perfected in smoothness by any future Anime Convention I may participate in :) .

Very cool and creative ^^ I should do something like this myself, only I wouldn’t dare try and make a US flag lol, way too much work doing all those little stars. Crazy glue is freaking annoying. I only really use it for fixing breaks on figures in emergencies, I hate how it sticks to you and takes forever to get off. Definitely make your little fox logo into a flag ^^

    Heh, thanks ^^.

If I do get the American flag drawn up maybe I could send it to you to trace over?

Will get to the next batch of flags today and will edit it in this one.

Hey the pirate flag and mascot one look great! Also the printed out flags are much smoother, but still I can appreciate the hard work put into the hand drawn ones ^^
